• The candidates under this category must have valid GATE score.
• They pursue Dual MS(Engineering)+PhD in EEE programme at the Institute on full time basis.
• They are entitled to receive Financial Assistantship/ Scholarship from IIT Guwahati (tenable for a maximum period of five years) as per the governing rules subject to satisfactory academic progress and satisfactory performance in assigned teaching assistant duty.
• The final admission to the candidates under this cateogry is based on the performance in the written test and / or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credential of the candidates, etc.
• The requirement of valid GATE score is exempted for the Candidates with qualifying degree as Bachelors' (B.Tech./B.Des.) degree or Masters' (M.A./M.Sc.) degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with minimum CPI of 8.0 in a 10-point scale.
• The mode of application submission for this category is ONLINE.

The Non-Regular studentship category Sponsored & Full Time, Employed & Part Time, Self-Financed & Rull Time /Part Time and Project Staff & Full Time / Part Time are NOT available for Dual MS(Engineering)+PhD in EEE programme.
