Due to covid-19 pandemic, the teaching and assessments of all academic courses of Monsoon Semester (July-November 2021) will be conducted through online mode. You are hereby instructed NOT to come/visit physically to IIT Guwahati till you get an official notification from the Institute requesting you to physically come to the Institute.

Login credentials for registration portal are being sent individually to students registered email ids. However, late admissions (from waiting lists, etc.) records will be activated after 26 July 2021.

It is mandatory to all new students to do academic course online registration on during 27-28 July 2021. If you fail to do academic course registration, then your admission shall be cancelled forthwith. For details on courses and class time-table, etc., please contact the Member Secretary of Department/Centre Postgraduate Programme Committee (DPPC/CPPC) or the Head of the Department/Centre of your Department/Centre (see Annexure I).

Login on the registration portal is through your personal emai-id only. Activation of IITG Email-id (that you had chosen while filling the additional information) will take some time. You will receive an email in this regard. If you have not received IITG Email-ID activation email, please check the spam folder of your personal email. You need the IITG Email-id for attending classes from 29th July onwards.

If you are assigned a Roll No. (please check in the list of students) but you did not get login credentials email please write to Mr. Pranjal Gogoi at “pranjal1989@iitg.ac.in” and wait for your login credentials for the registration portal.



Document Verification

Your admission will be regularized after verification all required original documents and subject to satisfying all eligibility conditions stated in the advertisement for admission.

For document verification, you must produce all Certificates, Mark Sheets, & Other Documents listed below in Original as well as a Scanned Copy (in PDF format).

  • All Certificates (Pass/ Degree Certificates, Mark Sheets/ Grade Cards, etc.) starting from 10th Class onward – Upto Qualifying Degree/ Exam
  • Documents for Qualified in GATE/ CEED/ NET/ INSPIRE/ etc. – if applicable
  • Birth Certificate (for proof of Date of Birth)
  • For EWS candidates, Income & Asset Certificate in prescribed format issued on or after 01.04.2020 – if applicable
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer Certificate) in prescribed format issued on or after 01.04.2020 – if applicable
  • SC/ ST Caste Certificate in prescribed format – if applicable
  • PwD Certificate in prescribed format – if applicable
  • Medical Certificate (as per format available at http://www.iitg.ac.in/acad/freshers/medreport.pdf)
  • Code of Conduct Pledge, Anti-Ragging Undertaking, Undertaking by Hostel Residents, where required (see: http://www.iitg.ac.in/acad)
  • Sponsorship Letter/ No Objection Certificate from the Employer/ Work Experience Certificate, etc. and Letter of Granting Leave & Releasing for joining PhD programme from the Employer – if applicable
  • Online Payment Receipt of Admission Fee
  • Your Photograph in Colour (Background in White Colour)
  • If available, Aadhaar Card

If your qualifying degree results are awaited, you shall have to produce scanned copy of original Degree Certificates and Mark Sheets (for each semester/ year, as may be applicable) of your qualifying degree latest by 30.09.2021(REVISED), failure to which your admission shall be cancelled. The document verification of students will start in due course. Further, you must satisfy all eligibility conditions stated in the advertisement for admission.

Disbursement of Institute Assistantship / External Fellowship for the eligible students (with arrears where applicable) will start ONLY after verification of documents and regularization of the studentship.
