• The final admission to the candidates under this cateogry is based on the performance in the written test and / or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credential of the candidates, etc.
• The mode of application submission for this category is ONLINE.

• The candidates under this category must have BTech or BDes degree from one of the IITs with a minimum CPI / CGPA of 8.0 in a 10-point scale.
• They pursue MDes programme at the Institute on full time basis.
• They are exempted from the requiement of valid CEED score.

• They pursue MDes programme at the Institute on full time basis.
• They are NOT entitled to receive any financial assistance from the Institute.
• The candidate under this category must be a regular employee of his/her organization with at least 2 (two) years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought.
• They should submit Sponsorship Letter in prescribed format (See: Sponsorship Letter Format DOC, PDF) from the employer along with the application. The application without Sponsorship Letter will NOT be considered.
• The final admission to the candidates under this category is based on the performance in the written test and/ or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credentials of the candidates, etc.
• The mode of application submission for this category is OFFLINE/ PAPER FORM and they should download application form and then fill and submit it by post or in person to IITG.

• The candidates under this category are professionally employed personnel (including regular employees of IIT Guwahati), who can attend classes in the first year at the Institute while employed. These candidates should be able to attend regular classes as per the schedule of the Institute.
• They pursue MDes programme at the Institute on part time basis.
• The Institute does NOT Institute Scholarship to the students under this category.
• The candidate under this category must be a regular employee of his/her organization with at least 2 (two) years of experience at the time of applying and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought.
• They should submit No Objection Certificate in prescribed format (See: NOC Format DOC, PDF) from the employer along with the application. The application without No Objection Certificate will NOT be considered.
• The final admission to the candidates under this category is based on the performance in the written test and / or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credentials of the candidates, etc.
• The mode of application submission for this category is OFFLINE/ PAPER FORM and they should download application form and then fill and submit it by post or in person to IITG.

• The candidates under this category are presently working in a sponsored R&D projects of IIT Guwahati.
• They pursue MDes programme at the Institute on part time basis.
• The remaining duration of the project at the time of admission should be at least one year.
• They are not entitled to receive Scholarship from the Institute.
• They should submit No Objection Certificate in prescribed format (See: NOC Format DOC, PDF) from IIT Guwahati (Dean-R&D) along with the application. The application without No Objection Certificate will NOT be considered.
• The final admission to the candidates under this category is based on the performance in the written test and/ or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credentials of the candidates, etc.

For students pursuing academic programme on part-time basis, the hostel accommodation is NOT provided. If the hostel accommodation is needed, they have to request for it and pay the required fees for it and it is subject to availability.
